Ukrainian cities taking part in European Mobility Week

In 2011, 12 Ukrainian cities are taking part in the European Mobility Week.In the capital Kyiv, the Kyiv Cycling Association and various other partners have prepared a host of activities, such as the selection of the “Employee on bike of the year”, a cycling parade without borders, as well as activities with journalists and officials.

The City of Lviv has elaborated a comprehensive program focusing on cycling. Activities include excursions by bike on new cycling infrastructure, bike party with, installation of bike parking racks at School no 9 and kids bike contests, Lviv celebrities on bike. The activities are prepared by the City Administration of Lviv (www.city-adm.lviv.ua), Lviv Cycling Association (www.velolviv.org.ua) as well as GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nuclear Safety and Nature Conservation (www.mobilnist.org.ua).

Also in the City of Evpatorija all activities are focusing in the promotion of cycling, including a roundtable on the development of cycling infrastructure, cycling excursions and promotional activities.
