The Swedish coastal
city of Gävle has won the 2009 European Mobility Week Award. Gävle
was judged by an independent panel of experts to have done the most to promote
clean mobility initiatives during European Mobility Week 2009. Leon in Spain
and the Croatian city of IvanicGrad were runners-up.

The City of Porto Alegre
succesfully concluded the international seminar "Porto Alegre and the cities
of World Cup 2014 - the German Experience - Stuttgart" which took place
on May 21, 2010. The event gathered around 300 participants from Brazil and counted
on the participation of high political representatives, such as the State Secretary
of the Brazilian Ministry of Sports, Carlos Silva, and the Mayors of Porto Alegre,
José Fortunati, and Stuttgart, Dr. Wolfgang Schuster.
