The alignment of real estate with the demands of the capital markets, the demands on real estate as regards the transparency of major real estate transactions and the professionalism of asset management, and the major restructuring processes in the housing industry are just a few of the many changes currently taking place.


Ernst & Young Real Estate GmbH (“Ernst & Young Real Estate”) was formed in 1999 because of the rapidly growing demand for independent and professional consulting for the asset class Real Estate. Our headquarters are located in Eschborn near Frankfurt am Main.

We are an international real estate consulting company and a legally independent unit of the International Ernst & Young Organisation (“Ernst & Young”). Our core competencies lie in the following areas:

  • Real estate valuation and real estate due diligence (“Real Estate Transaction Support”)
  • Consulting on the sale or acquisition of large real estate portfolios (“Real Estate M&A Capital Market Services”)

We have a presence in three countries, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland. You will find us in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Eschborn near Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Stuttgart, Amsterdam and Warsaw. We currently have a staff of 210 (charted surveyors, real estate economists [ebs/REMI or IREBS], industrial engineers, business administrators, architects and building engineers).

Together with our colleagues from Audit and Tax Consultancy as well as Management Consultancy we pursue a multidisciplinary approach which includes real-estate-related advisory services.

Ernst & Young Real Estate GmbH merged with Prof. Weiss + Partner Projektsteuerungsgesellschaft mbH in early 1999 in order to integrate well-founded technical know-how into the consulting business. This merger gives us longstanding experience in the development and management of complex building projects.

The daily consulting work of Ernst & Young Real Estate is subject to the same high demands and quality standards applying to Ernst & Young AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft Steuerberatungsgesellschaft. For this reason we also offer services originally developed by auditing companies, e.g., vendor due diligence for real estate portfolio transactions.

Our real estate advisory service

Transaction consulting by Ernst & Young involves investigating the acquisition and sale, valuation and restructuring of companies for relevant financial, tax and operative aspects and indicating adequate options. The services comprise an advance results-oriented analysis and subsequent flanking support of the transaction up to its full conclusion. We successfully support our clients’ acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and IPOs to achieve the objectives targeted with the transaction.
