Union of Municipalities of Marmara (Turkey) looks for partners
The Union of Municipalities of Marmara is the largest regional union of local authorities in Turkey, based in Istanbul. The Union is actively involved in the fields of international cooperation of local authorities (see newsletter).

The European Commission has launched the call for proposals "Non State Actors and Local Authorities for Development" (EuropeAid / 129200 / C / ACT / Multi ). Turkish municipalities can take part as an “associate partner” in this programme.

The UMM wishes to participate in the project development and therefore looks for potential partners in Europe. The Union can be useful partner in several ways:

  • Acting as associate partner in the projects implementation;
  • Helping to establish consortiums with target countries' local authorities, involving its contacts and networks in Middle East, Black Sea, Central Asia, Asia or Africa;
  • Helping to develop project ideas and in co-writing proposals.

The deadline for the concept notes to be submitted to the European Commission is 25.02.2010. For more details about the programme, please see the guidelines below or visit the EuropeAid website.
