The 9th International Cities for Mobility Congress took place under the theme “New Mobility and the Transformation of our Cities” on 18-19 June and brought together more than 300 participants from 34 countries spanning diverse sectors and thematic areas including local and regional government, start-ups, large companies, civil society, urban planning, transport, pedestrian and cyclist safety and many more.
The 7th International Congress of Cities for Mobility took place from June 1st to 3rd in Stuttgart under the title “Rethinking and Implenting mobility” gathering more than 200 mobility experts, decision makers, entrepreneurs and representatives from civil society around the world. The event was opened by the Mayor of Stuttgart, Fritz Kuhn who underlined the importance of citizen involvement in designing and implementing effective transport policies. During his speech he gave an overview of his Action Plan for Sustainable Mobility (Nachhaltig mobil in Stuttgart) which aims at reducing congestion and enhancing intermodality as well as promoting the use of non motorized transport in the city.
The 8th International Cities for Mobility Congress titled „Mobility in the sustainable city: What do we need to do now?“ took place on 19-21 June 2016 at Stuttgart City Hall gathering 300 municipal practitioners, decision makers, researchers and initiatives from civil society and private sector from more than 35 countries world-wide. The event combined presentations, interactive workshops and practical activities, such as trainings and excursions.
