First Car-free Day in Stuttgart on September 22, 2019

The City of Stuttgart organized the First Car-free Day in cooperation with the municipal event agency in.Stuttgart on September 22, 2019 in the city centre. The numerous activities – from a cargo bike roadshow, a bike safety parcour for kids to pedestrian events and dance perfomances – took place along the main artery Theodor-Heus-Strasse which was closed on the same day for car traffic. The main objective was to show that public space must be recovered for pedestrians, cyclists and other sustainable mobility actions in order to create a more liveable environment on our streets and neighborhoods.
